CIPANP 2012 Fourth Bulletin: 1 February 2012         (PDF version)

The 11th Conference on the Intersections of Particle and Nuclear Physics (CIPANP 2012) will be held at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club, St. Petersburg, FL, May 29 - June 3, 2012.

The objectives of the CIPANP Conferences are to encourage communications among experimental and theoretical elementary particle physicists, nuclear physicists, astroparticle physicists, astronuclear physicists, and cosmologists covering a wide range of topics of current interest.

CIPANP will include plenary, parallel and poster sessions. The plenary session talks and invited parallel session talks will be of 30 minutes duration, including 5 minutes for discussion. Review talks by the Convenors on the parallel session contents will be 25 minutes long, again including 5 minutes for discussion. Other selected parallel session talks will be of 20 minutes duration, including 3 minutes for discussion.

Conference Program

Proceedings

As was done for the previous CIPANP Conferences, arrangements have been made with the American Institute of Physics to publish the CIPANP 2012 Proceedings. Authors are requested to submit the written versions of their talks prior to the deadline of 3 August 2012. Please see the Proceedings link on the left for full details.

Abstract Submission   (REVISED - Note the 5 March 2012 deadline)

Information about submitting a contributed paper/poster abstract (deadline 5 March 2012) is available via the Submit Abstract link on the left. CIPANP 2012 abstract submission is now open. All abstracts will be reviewed by the two Convenors of the particular topic. Contributors will be informed whether their contributions have been selected for oral presentation in the parallel sessions or accepted as posters by 31 March 2012. Invited plenary session talks and invited parallel session talks will be uploaded to the conference website.

Conference Facilities

Speakers will be requested to upload their talk files to the Indico site where they submitted their abstract at least a day before their scheduled session. Only PDF (preferred) or PowerPoint files will be accepted. For safety, speakers are advised to bring a copy on a USB stick. The conference presentation laptops must be used. The use of personal laptops will not be allowed due to the complexity of the schedule where there will be seven parallel sessions running simultaneously.

Financial Assistance

Information about applying for limited financial assistance to facilitate participation in CIPANP 2012 is available via the Financial Assistance link on the left. Priority for financial assistance will be given to the younger scientists (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research associates). The deadline for requesting financial assistance is 24 February 2012.
